Timed mock exams and the certificate
A timed sitting works differently from practice. You sign in, give the name you want on your certificate, and answer a fresh draw against a clock the server holds rather than your browser, and the result is recorded against your account. One sitting can cover both papers in sequence, or you can take either paper on its own. Read the section below before you start your first one, because the name it asks for is the name you keep.
Read this first: the name on your certificate locks
Before your first certifying sitting you are asked for the name you want on your certificate. That name is stored on your profile and locks at that point. It goes on every certificate you go on to earn from any course on this site, and there is no self-service rename afterwards.
So enter it exactly as you want it to read, with the spelling, accents and capitalisation you would put on a CV, and check it before you press start. Untimed practice never asks for a name and records nothing, so drill there as long as you like while you decide.

These mocks are study aids for this course, not an accredited external certification.
What a recorded sitting involves
- 1The sitting page asks you to sign in, then asks for the name you want on your certificate if your profile does not already hold one.
- 2The server draws your questions to the paper blueprint and runs the clock. Answers stop counting when time runs out, and leaving the page does not pause it.
- 3On submission you are shown your points, the pass decision against the 60 per cent line, and a percentage for every sampling band with the weakest band first, so the topic to revisit is at the top of that list.
The Practitioner paper is open book, reference panel: the panel is there to confirm a definition or a date, not to read from scratch inside 90 minutes.
The certificate, and how anyone can verify it
Pass the Foundation paper and you earn the Digitalisation Foundation Certificate. Pass the Practitioner paper and you earn the Digitalisation Practitioner Certificate. Passing both earns both, each issued to the name you locked in and available from your account page.
Every certificate carries a unique credential number and a QR code that resolve on the public verification page, so an employer can confirm in seconds that the result is genuine and unaltered. The specimen below shows the design without verifiable details.
