Navigate the parts of an architecture repository (architecture landscape, standards information base, reference library, governance log) so you can tell learners where anything they need lives.

The TOGAF Architecture Repository: a framed estate of eight partitions

The Architecture Metamodel frames the work from the top and the Architecture Capability governs it from the bottom. Between them sit six content partitions, each answering one question about the architecture.

Knowing which of the eight partitions a document belongs in keeps the repository from becoming a folder of unsorted files. Source: The Open Group, TOGAF Standard, Architecture Repository.

The TOGAF Architecture Repository: a framed estate of eight partitions The TOGAF Architecture Repository as a framed estate. A top band, the Architecture Metamodel, frames the work as the tailored method and content metamodel. A bottom band, the Architecture Capability, governs the whole through roles, process and tooling. Between them six content partitions sit in two columns, each labelled by the question it answers: Architecture Landscape, what do we have; Architecture Requirements, what is asked of us; Standards Information Base, what must we comply with; Reference Library, what can we reuse; Governance Log, what was decided; and Solutions Landscape, what have we built, marked in red as where delivery lands.
