ArchiMate Technology Viewpoint

Picture the nodes, system software, devices and networks that support the application layer.

ArchiMate Technology viewpoint: nodes, system software and networks

The Technology Viewpoint shows the software and hardware that support the application layer: nodes, system software, devices and the networks that join them.

ArchiMate Technology viewpoint: nodes, system software and networks The ArchiMate 3.2 Technology Viewpoint for London Grid Distribution. An Azure region node contains three pieces of system software drawn inside it: the Kafka event bus, the Kubernetes platform and the PostgreSQL cluster. Kafka realises an Event streaming technology service drawn above the node. On the right, the OT network communication network connects the cloud node to the SCADA gateway server, an on-premises device in the control room. Containment does the talking: system software drawn inside a node runs on that node. The view answers where things run, what realises each technology service and how sites connect.

In Phase D, to agree where software runs and how sites connect before any deployment design.
