ArchiMate Migration Viewpoint
Plot the route from baseline to target architecture as plateaus, with a gap element naming what changes between each pair.
ArchiMate Migration viewpoint: plateaus and gaps from baseline to target
The Migration viewpoint plots the journey from a baseline architecture to a target architecture as a row of plateaus, with a gap element naming what changes between each pair.
Plateaus are stable states you can run for a while; gaps are the work between them. Planning with this view forces every change to belong to a named step on the way to the target.
In transition planning, when change must be sequenced into stable intermediate states.
